What is it? - 2022 sequel to modern classic whodunnit Knives Out, later followed up by 2025's Wake Up Dead Man. Considered to be the weakest of the trilogy, which I would absolutely agree with
Glass Onion is, regrettably, not very good. It's so desperate to be a movie of its moment that it ages horrendously. Isn't it so quirky that main detective Benoit Blanc plays Among Us on a Zoom call? Aren't billionaire tech bros the worst? I mean, I guess, but director Rian Johnson's politics here are a nihilistic centrist hellhole, only able to point out problems without coming up with reasonable solutions. Burn it all down but the systems at play remain the same. The ultimate twitter film. Easily Johnson's worst modern film (The Last Jedi haters DNI, that's easily the best Star Wars film and one of the most exciting blockbusters to come out in recent memory), ultimately very skippable within the Knives Out trilogy. The movie is bad to passable visually most of the time but those shots during the blackout are excellent.
